This past weekend we finally made it down the street for Foodie Friday at Whole Foods. $5 for a special wine glass (to keep!), 5 wine samples and 5 food pairings. It was so much fun wandering around Whole Foods and talking to all of our friends. I can't wait for next week!
Saturday evening we went to Claddagh at Legacy Village to see a band of JCU students play. It was a fun atmosphere and the music was great.
I am considering a move to the West Side after graduation, so we spent Sunday morning in Lakewood driving around. Our brunch at The Root Cafe (an organic cafe and kitchen) consisted of Huevos Rancheros and a bowl of Tomato Bisque soup. The food was flavorful and filling. If I move to that area, I know I will be back to Root.
Before heading back to the apartment, we stopped at Coquette Patisserie in the Uptown area for French Press Coffee and a Pear Pinwheel to share. Everything about this place is awesome. It was the best to sit in this beautifully decorated cafe and enjoy such a perfect dessert and coffee. I highly highly highly recommend.
Anddddd...if you don't believe me, go see "The Grand Budapest Hotel" this weekend. Coquette's head pastry chef was approached by the directors of the film for her talents! The dessert pictured here is sold at Coquette and was featured in the movie.
Monday was filled with green pancakes, downtown festivities and Conway's Irish Ale Mac & Cheese.
My kind of weekend.
