picnic lunch.

I have a special place in my heart for people that love something so much they make a business out of it. The Cleveland Culinary Launch Kitchen (CCLK) is launch pad for that type of love. It is a shared kitchen that provides equipment and the facilities to help food entrepreneurs take their concepts to the next level. CCLK has brought so many of these local ideas to fruition. Think BrewnutsRandy's Pickles, and JukeBox just to name a few! Many of these business feature their products at the Cleveland Flea. (2016 flea season kicks off on April 16th, so mark your calendar)

Yesterday felt like a breezy spring day which meant a walk around the neighborhood and grilling out. We had a picnic lunch of Thayer's hot dogs, Trade Joe's Baked Beans and Randy's Mustache on Fire pickles on the side. It is obvious why these pickles won Cleveland Magazine's Best of Cleveland. They are perfectly crunchy and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I am a sucker for packaging and I adore the clean, hand-crafted look of this jar. I can't wait to try the Black Pepper Chip flavor and hope to share a jar with my family at our summer cookouts. You can order them online or check out the store locations here.

Heinen's is great about carrying local products, so I am always on the lookout for a local alternative to try. They have a full list of the local products they currently carry here.

Do you have any fav local products? I am thinking I should start compiling a list of the best ones I've tried!

I received a jar of Mustache on Fire pickles as part of Randy's Pickles marketing initiatives. I am always happy to share great local products and events. Visit my sponsor page for more information.
